The Project
Once a classic roadside motel, The Uncommoner Hotel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, has been reimagined as a 100-room boutique hotel rooted in wanderlust, storytelling, and design. Working alongside Boston-based interior design and purchasing firm Studio 59 East, Momentum helped bring Principal Interior Designer Jessica K. Smith's layered, travel-inspired vision to life through custom digital wallcoverings and Rebecca Moses wallcoverings.
The Inspiration
Inspired by the spirit of Marseille, France, Studio 59 East envisioned four distinct traveler archetypes, each shaping the identity of a different guest room. For Smith, they served as the creative foundation for every design decision: “These characters serve as muses for the material palette, artwork, and storytelling woven into each space.”

Where Pattern Becomes Story
Wallcovering became one of the project's most powerful storytelling tools, helping establish a distinct identity within every space.
Building on Studio 59 East's creative vision, our Momentum Digital Design team collaborated to develop custom digital wallcoverings that brought each guest room's unique character to life. Select designs were also microvented to preserve the integrity of the original artwork while meeting the functional needs of the space.
Complementing the custom designs, Rebecca Moses' Deco Dreams II in Galactic Green was selected for the restaurant and throughout the Madame and Voyager corridors, reinforcing the hotel's artful, collected aesthetic.
"We wanted the rooms to feel dimensional and carefully assembled—not simply decorated."
The result is a boutique destination that feels traveled, vintage, eclectic, and truly one of a kind.
